INTRODUCTION
Chennai Super Kings is an Indian Premier League franchise cricket team based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was formed in 2008, and the team plays its home matches at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The team is owned by India Cements Limited through the Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited holding company. Led by M.S Dhoni and head coach Stephen Fleming.

From 2008 to now, CSK has been the most consistent team in the history of the IPL.
CSK has won four IPL titles under the captaincy of M.S. Dhoni in 14 IPL seasons, and CSK holds the record of playing 12 playoffs in the IPL. In 2023, CSK will become the first team to appear in its 10th IPL final on May 28.

RECORDS HELD BY CSK IN IPL
Lowest total defended in the IPL: CSK currently holds the IPL record for the lowest score defended. In a 2009 encounter against Kings XI Punjab in Durban, Chennai defended 116 for 9 against them. In their 20 overs of batting first, CSK struggled, with Parthiv Patel scoring 32 as their highest total. The next best score was 20 by Suresh Raina. However, CSK produced an outstanding bowling performance to win the match by 24 runs. As Punjab was restricted to 92 for 8, Muttiah Muralitharan, Thilan Thushara, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Suresh Raina each grabbed two wickets.
Most wickets in a season by an overseas bowler: In an IPL season, CSK's Dwayne Bravo holds the record for most wickets taken by an international bowler. During the 2013 season, the West Indian all-rounder accomplished the feat. In 18 games, he killed 32 opponents with an average of 15.53 and an 11.71 strike rate. No other foreign bowler in a season has claimed as many. For the RCB in 2021, Harshal Patel took 32 wickets.
